Follow the Money!!

I just returned from a round table discussion with Evan Berger, Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development. He brought up some interesting statistics. There are about 3.78 million people in Alberta. 3.4 million of them live in the cities. The large majority of the people, the influence, the votes and the money are in urban areas. The question that must be answered to expand business and opportunities in rural Alberta is, "What draw or incentive can we put in place that will draw these people (and there money) out of the cities to spend time and money in our communities?"

First Crocus

Spring has been a very long time coming.  We finally got our cows out on grass this week after fixing all the fence that this winter's snow took down.

Spring Run

Porter Slough

We've been getting quite a run here east of Wardlow.  There's still a lot of the snow pack that hasn't moved yet and the dugouts and sloughs are more than full.
